Wivenhoe

A late start due to sloth, so only got 11.30 train from Liverpool street.  A grey day but only starting drizzling right towards the end.
Train to Colchester.  Went the wrong way up Sustrans 1 for a while, then turned round and went back in to the centre of town and quickly found route 51.  Sustrans signage can still be baffling even with a ordinance survey map, the sustrans map and GPS, but only an Iphone gps ;(.
Route 51 is off road by the river bank, a bit bleak and blowy, basically a track, no good for a road bike, ok on the surly, but you don't need a mountain bike.

The first BCQ ride of 2011

Up nice and early and got train from Liverpool st to Chelmsford.  Followed Sustrans Route 1 to Maldon, then on to colchester.  Meant to go to Wivenhoe and then to Colchester, but decided not to.  Must get a proper GPS as my Iphone keeps running out of power.
